BlackBerry KEY2 LE vs KEY2: Specs comparison and main differences

Publish date: 2024-05-25
BlackBerry just announced a new member of its KEY line: the KEY2 LE. Similar to other brands that release "lite" versions of their premium phones, the KEY2 LE shares the same overall design with the KEY2, but has lower specs and a cheaper price to match them. The new device is meant for people who want the BlackBerry experience at a lower cost, but what exactly are you compromising with, if you go for the KEY2 LE?

The answer is a little bit of everything. First, you go a step down when it comes to the CPU/GPU combo, instead of the Snapdragon 660 and the Adreno 512, you get a Snapdragon 636 and Adreno 509. Then, you lose 2 GB of RAM, going down to 4 GB. Along with the missing RAM goes half of the KEY2's storage, leaving you with 64GB. The cuts continue in the battery department, leaving you with 3000 mAh. All that shedding hasn't brought down the weight, however, the KEY2 LE is actually 5 grams heavier than the KEY2, but a bit slimmer.

There's at least one positive change to be found as well, the KEY2 LE receives an upgraded main camera (13 megapixels vs 12 in the KEY2) with Portrait mode and new Wide Selfie and Face Beauty modes for the front camera.
