If you've set your eyes on getting one of these bad boys, you may be interested in checking out how their batteries are and how their perform in the battery department. That's exactly what this article is for. Here, we're examining the battery sizes of the three tablets. Also, we also look into their battery test results and how the three tablets perform in real life use.

Does the Galaxy Tab S9 line have better battery life?

Overall, the battery sizes across the Galaxy Tab S9 lineup remain the same as their predecessors, with one exception being the 'vanilla' Galaxy Tab S9, which sports a bigger battery than its predecessor.

However, there's another aspect of a device that influences the battery life and its processor. We're talking about the processor. The tablets run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy, and this chip, given the fact it's more power efficient than that of their predecessors, helps them with endurance in terms of battery life. The upgrade may be minor, but it's worth it.

The smaller tablet easily lasts you a full business day. One thing to mention is that videos seem to drain its battery slightly faster than games and web browsing, so do keep that in mind.

As for the Tab S9 Plus, it also fares pretty well, given the fact it sports the same battery size as last year. It will last a day, consisting of media-centric usage. However, if you boost the brightness all the way up and what videos, it understandably drains the battery faster.

The Ultra also gets around 10 hours of usage if you're not using YouTube or a demanding game. More demanding tasks drain the battery faster, as you can see in the test results below.

How much battery does the Galaxy Tab S9 have?

The vanilla Galaxy Tab S9 battery size is the only one that's getting an upgrade on paper this year. For the two other models in the series, the battery sizes are the same.

Does the Galaxy Tab S9 have wireless charging?

Just like their predecessors, the Tab S9 tablets don't support wireless charging. It seems that the earlier leaks about a possible wireless charging support on the Tab S9 Ultra were wrong. And it actually makes quite a lot of sense given the fact that a bulky tablet may be difficult to place on a wireless charging stand anyway. Additionally, this big battery may take forever to charge wirelessly.

Does the Galaxy Tab S9 have reverse wireless charging?

No, you can't use the Galaxy Tab S9 devices to reverse wireless charge another device. This is for sure a very useful feature to have, given the fact that the tablets have big batteries (especially the Ultra), but we're left with wishful thinking for next year.

How fast does the Galaxy Tab S9 charge?

This year, the Tab S9 series sport the same charging speeds as last year's Galaxy Tab S8 series. This means up to 45W of fast charging support. As we already mentioned, so far we've only reviewed the Tab S9 and the Tab S9 Plus. For the smaller model, charging is pretty decent. With the Samsung 45W charger, the Galaxy Tab S9 charges in less than an hour and a half, which is quite good enough for most people.

On the other hand, the bigger Tab S9 Plus charges up fully in roughly two hours, which is on the slower side, unfortunately.

Here are the results from our tests.

What charger does the Galaxy Tab S9 use?

The Tab S9 series uses a USB-C charger with speeds of up to 45W. As usual, the power adapter is missing from the box, which has now become a standard even when it comes to tablets. However, you are able to use a Qi-supporting charger for the tablets.
