Motorola Moto G still tops best-selling smartphone charts

The Moto G is Motorola’s best selling smartphone ever - we’ve known this since February. What we didn’t know is that, even now, 8 months after the handset was initially released, it’s still a top seller. We’ve checked Amazon’s best selling unlocked smartphones in six countries, finding out that the Moto G is no. 1 in four of them: UK, Germany, Spain, and France. The handset is the second best-selling unlocked smartphone in the US and Italy, where two Samsung models (the S3 Mini and S III Neo) seem to be a bit more popular. India, Brazil, Mexico and others are also markets where the Moto G is hugely successful. Motorola did not say how many Moto G units it sold until now around the world, but we assume the number is in the millions. As you probably know, the smartphone is offered for as low as $179 (8GB non-LTE version) and, as our Moto G review concludes, that’s an outstanding price for what the device is offering.A second-generation Motorola Moto G was allegedly photographed earlier today, but we can’t confirm its authenticity. In any case, it makes sense for Motorola to introduce a new Moto G soon, doesn’t it?
