New phones, unlimited data plans and nationwide LTE are offered by AT&T's new Cricket

With AT&T's purchase of Leap Wireless, the nation's second largest carrier took over pre-paid operator Cricket Wireless. As it promised it would once the deal closed, AT&T took its own Aio Wireless, combined its operations with those of Cricket, and relaunched both mobile operators under the Cricket name. Starting today, Cricket's LTE footprint is now nationwide and covers 280 million Americans, exceeding the reach of the LTE signals put out by T-Mobile, Sprint and MetroPCS.Cricket's new roster of smartphones includes handsets made by Samsung, Motorola, Nokia, ZTE and more. The pre-paid operator is offering a $49.99 mail-in rebate with its Cricket Visa Promotion Card. And after every 12 months of on-time payments, Cricket will hand out a $50 credit to be used toward the purchase of a new phone.

The new Cricket Wireless offers three different plans, priced at $40, $50 and $60. Take $5 off the top for agreeing to take care of your monthly invoice using Auto Pay. For $40 a month, you receive unlimited talk, domestic text and 500MB of high-speed data. The $50 plan includes 2.5GB of high-speed data while the $60 plan gives you 5GB of high-speed data. Exceed your data cap and you will get throttled down to a lower speed. All three plans also come with free international texting to 35 countries. Multi-line accounts can save as much as $90 a month.
