Samsung Gear Fit 2 and Gear IconX price and release date

Samsung today announced two brand new wearable devices aimed at folks looking to stay fit and healthy. As expected, the two devices are the Samsung Gear Fit 2 and the Samsung Gear IconX.

Succeeding the Gear Fit from 2014, the Gear Fit 2 brings a more ergonomic design, and benefits from an embedded GPS sensor (the original Gear Fit doesn't have one). The new fitness tracker sports a 1.5-inch curved Super AMOLED screen with 216 x 432 pixels, and, just like its predecessor, it includes a hear rate monitor sensor. The device can act as a standalone music player, and is powered by a dual-core 1 GHz processor, further offering 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal memory, and a 200 mAh battery. Like all respectable fitness bands, the Gear Fit 2 is dust- and water-resistant (IP68 certified - good to survive up to 30 minutes in up to 1.5 meters of water).

The Gear Fit 2 runs Tizen OS, being compatible with smartphones that have at least 1.5 GB of RAM and run Android 4.4 or newer - you'll be able to seamlessly sync your data (steps, distances, calories, etc) via S Health or "other select fitness applications." The new Samsung fitness band will be available in three color variants (black, blue, and pink), and two sizes: small (for wrists between 125 and 170mm), and large (for wrists between 155 and 210 mm).
As for the Gear IconX, these are wireless earbuds that can also track fitness data - including distance, speed, heart rate, and calories burned - and sync with Samsung's S Health app via Bluetooth. The Gear IconX earbuds are activated by simply placing them in your ears, and include a Voice Guide feature for feedback on your workout progress. The Gear IconX can be used as a standalone music player, too, offering 4 GB of internal memory for storing up to 1000 songs. The buds are splash-resistant, and will be available in black, blue, and white. 
Samsung will release the Gear Fit 2 on June 10 in the US, for prices starting at $179.99. The Gear IconX earbuds will be launched sometime next quarter (for an unknown price), so you might find them in stores as soon as July. Interested?
